twice in one day
My favorite nephew Scott likes to writes haikus and post them on his blog www.twopeanuts.com, so I was inspired to write a few back in June. Decided to post them here.

Tuesday Evening here
Shadows have covered my face
My soul is being cleansed

June bugs fly at dusk
A hot day in early June
I sit on my porch

Thunder rolls tonight
The light'ning flashes yellow
Time to Go inside

Seventy nine years
Our time is growing shorter
Ashes to ashes

A man's Life is short
Love and memories remain
Thru eternity

Seems like the only time I do these entries is after going up to Franklin to square dance. Went again last night. Granny was afraid that I would be washed away since it had rained so much the last couple of days. Fortunately the skies were clear and the roads dry all the way.

It was the usual second Wednesday all squares night, no rounds. Ken Perkins was the caller. Willis came up to push the Saturday Wal-Mart dance that he does. I pushed the Macon convention that's next week. Picked up money and tickets from Janie Owens 5 sold and 5 unsold.

Bob Walker was in rare form. After Willis and I made our announcements about Friday, Saturday and next week, he got up and said, "Friday WE'RE ALL going to Hiawassee (his current girlfriend's former club) and Saturday, WE'RE ALL going over to Blairsville." It was like it was OK for us to make announcements (including Habersham's Saturday dance and graduation) but that HE got to decide where all the club members would be travelling to. I don't know who he irritates the most, me or Debbie.

We went to McDonald's with Willis for one of his post mortum discussions of the dance, the singles dance from last weekend and other topics on his mind.

I got home about midnight and crashed as soon as I was in the door.

Mood:  sharp
Went to Franklin to square dance at High Mountain. Stan Russell from Spartanburg was the caller and it was their 'all squares' continuous dancing. Enjoyed his calling but had to put up with Bob Walker and his irritating mouth for the night.
Once the Federation has a new set of officers in October I'll just ignore him as much as possible.
